Our mission:

Corvallis Montessori School fosters a strong foundation for confident, compassionate participation in the world by nurturing each child's unique gifts, passion for learning, and independence. As a community, we enrich families, live our diversity, and embody the Association Montessori Internationale standards of excellence.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) whose holistic vision of education focuses on the cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs of the child. For Dr. Montessori, and for CMS, education is preparation for life.

Our Vision:

We are a premier resource for educating children and families. We have a beautiful campus in the heart of Corvallis, with complete facilities for educating children from 15 months to 12 years old, and for educating adults about the nature of children. We are fully enrolled and offer scholarships to provide a balanced community. Our graduates are prepared for responsible life in a free society, in the spirit of understanding, peace, tolerance, equality of sexes, and friendship among all peoples, ethnic, national and religious groups and persons of indigenous origin. Our employees work here because they love it; because this work matters to them, and they are dedicated to the mission of the school. We offer excellent salaries and benefits and support for each person to develop personally and professionally as individuals and part of the group.

Diversity Statement

We hold diversity itself as a value and nurture awareness of the global community by welcoming people of differing races, cultures, genders, ages, abilities, languages, economic and social backgrounds, political beliefs and religions, family styles, nationalities and sexual orientations into a safe, accepting and respectful environment where we learn together, honoring and embracing our humanity.

Statement of Non-Discrimination

Corvallis Montessori School is a non-sectarian institution and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, national or cultural origin, sexual orientation, family style, political belief, or disability in the administration of its admissions, financial assistance, education or employment practices (unless such disability prevents performance of the work involved), or any other basis prohibited by law.
