Parent Notice March 18, 2012

Parent/Child Night – Wednesday, April 4th (4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

The children would like to invite you to come to our parent/child night this coming Wednesday, April 4th. Your child will spend one half hour presenting a favorite piece of work, or a few different activities, during the half hour period. Your child will be playing the role of teacher and you will be the child, sitting attentively and watching quietly.

You may choose a half hour slot that best suits your schedule between 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sign up on the notice board outside your child’s classroom to indicate when you will be coming in for your own personal presentation on chosen Montessori material.

Child-care will be available for siblings in the Cedar Room.

Summer Program

Summer program information will be sent out next week, before our spring break, and we would like your forms back during the first week in April. Thank you.

Accreditation Process

The report on our accreditation was mailed this week. The three classrooms passed with flying colors and we are accredited for the next three year period.

We are still awaiting the elementary report.

Wet, Wet, Weather – Wet, Wet, Children

If you have any clothes you would like to donate to our “extra clothing supply”, please bring them in and leave them in the basket in the foyer. We are, especially, in need of socks. Many thanks.

The children in a Montessori room do much of their work on mats on the floor. In order to keep the floor as clean as possible for the children, please send in a pair of inside shoes to be left at school during the year. The easiest shoes for the children to manage are “Crocs”. Any other slip-ons would work also. If you choose to send in slippers, please select slippers without, animal heads, cartoon characters, etc. on the toe of the slippers.

We would like all inside shoes/slippers to be brought to school when the children return after the spring break.

Spring Break March, 26th-30th

In-Service Day – April 6th

There will be no class on Friday, April 6th as the teachers will be taking an in-service day. Please sign up for care, if you need it, by filling out or updating a No Class Day Form.

Parent-Teacher conferences – April 12th & 13th

Sign-up sheets for the parent/teacher conferences will be posted outside your child’s classroom on March 22nd. Conferences are half hour sessions when you have an opportunity to talk about your child. Your child’s teacher will give you a written report on each child. Families with more than one child at the school will be given the sign-up sheet on Monday so that they may co-ordinate the couple or several of appointments.
